Welcome to WHS!

Welcome to the website of Willcox High School, home of the Cowboys! We are located in Cochise County, Arizona, in the quaint historic town of Willcox, and we serve students in grades nine through 12. Though we are a small school, we take pride in providing an excellent education for our students that will empower them to become responsible and compassionate adults and prepare them to succeed in a highly technological world.

In addition to our outstanding academic curriculum, we also offer special education and gifted education programs to cater to specific student needs as well as a variety of clubs and athletic activities for those seeking extracurricular opportunities.

A Message from Our Principal

Cowboy Nation:

The school year is moving at a fast pace, and we are almost halfway through the first semester! Typically, most schools host a parent-teacher conference night, but Willcox High School does things differently. We run a grade check, and if a student has two or more “Fs” in their core classes, Mrs. Ortega will call families, and we schedule a team meeting with the student, their family, and all of their teachers. During this meeting, everyone works together on a solution to help the student become successful at Willcox High School. This process has been successful in the past and gives the student the opportunity to get back on track before the end of the semester (at the high school level, semester grades count on transcripts – quarterly grades are only used as “progress reports”).
